A stunning building in Paris
The Grande Arche de la Fraternité is a monument in the business district of La Défense to the west of Paris. It is usually known as the Arche de la Défense or simply as La Grande Arche.
On the roof you’ll discover year round exhibitions (such as the 3D gallery) and temporary ones (where renowned, contemporary artists will relay over the year), models of the Arche and a 20 minutes movie explaining how the Arche was built.
For the little story, in 1999, French urban climber Alain Robert scaled the structure's exterior wall using only his bare hands and feet and with no safety devices of any kind.
In the 2004 film, Godzilla: Final Wars, it is one of the Parisian monuments destroyed by the giant insect Kamacuras.
